2017 Summer Reading Program. Build a Better World and a better you this summer at Delta County Libraries! Registration for the children’s, teen and adult summer reading programs open on Friday, May 26. Register in-person at your library or online by visiting www.deltalibraries.org, “Summer Reading”.

Group Challenge. The Adult Summer Reading Program will feature a challenge for all ages to get involved in countywide! Participants will form a group of three or more people, select a project to complete in their community, and then share the results with their local library! Cedaredge

Cedaredge Library. Thursdays starting at 10:30 am. Parents and Tots are invited to participate in a reading time together. Contact the Library at 399-7674 for details Summer Storytimes. June and July themes will include: Robots, building with food, build-a- fort, reduce/reuse/recycle, tools are cool, outdoor build-off, building around the world and puzzles. Every Thursday at 10:30 am.

Summer Maker Space. “Build a Better World' by trying your hand at the complete Architectural Design Kit, and make a better building! This will be available all summer long during library hours to go with our theme for summer reading. Design a better house! A better world! Through August.

Crafts Group. Crafters meet each Tuesday at 10:00 am to share ideas and show & tell.

Tech Soup Saturday. Bring your devices and your questions.  Our expert "techies" will do their best to answer your questions. Saturdays, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Computer Class: Cell Phone Basics. Learn how cell phones and smart cellphones work in this easy to follow class. Fri, Aug 11, 2017 10:30am – 11:30am

Crawford

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Crawford Library. Stories, games, songs, activities, and crafts for kids 0-5 and their parents or caretakers. Thursdays starting at 10:30 am. Contact the Library at 399-7783 for details.

Computer Tutor. Librarians will be available to help you with questions and problems about computers or mobile devices. Just drop in during regular library hours or call ahead for a specific time. Contact the Crawford Library at 399-7783 for details.

Delta

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Delta Library. Wednesdays starting at 10:30 am. Parents and Tots are invited to participate in a reading time together. Contact the Library at 874-9630 for details.

Genealogy 1-on-1.  Get the help you need researching your genealogy in this on-going class taught by Mickey Watts!  Meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 pm.

Magic the Gathering. Teens can come to the library to play and trade cards for Magic the Gathering! Tournaments every first Saturday at 10:00 am.

Talk & Tangle Yarn. This is a group of knit and crochet enthusiasts that get together to talk and work on their individual projects. Anyone is welcome. Mondays at 5:30 pm.

Book Sale. Thu, Aug 10, 2017 10:00am – 4:00pm
The Friends of the Delta Library will have a Book Sale in or outside of the Delta Library every other month on the second Thursday of the month. Your donations of gently used good quality books will help us earn money for the Delta Library. Please do not bring us dirty or damaged books, text books, encyclopedias or Time Life series. DVD’s are welcome but we cannot accept VHS tapes. The July sale will be in Cleland Park during Deltarado Days and the November sale will be at Bill Heddles as a part of Altrusa’s Sugar Plum Festival, Friday night and Saturday.

Hotchkiss

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Hotchkiss Library.  Wednesdays starting at 10:30 am. Join us for stories, activities, and crafts downstairs in the Hotchkiss Library. Contact the Library at 399-7781 for details.

Paonia

The Gallery at Paonia Library: Final Friday Art Walk. Visit the Paonia Library during the Final Friday Art Walk for our August exhibit of local artists!

BeyBlade Tournaments.  Come to the Paonia Library to play BeyBlades!  Games and snacks provided.  Meets the third Thursday of every month.

Tech Café.  Paonia Library will have an open Tech Cafe in the Community Room for all ages and skill levels to seek tech assistance.  Every Friday 2:00 -4:00pm.

 

Literacy Program

High School Equivalency.  For information on High School Equivalency classes or HISET testing, please contact Gail at 399.7670 or gsrebnik@deltalibraries.org.

Distance Learning Program.  Do you need your high school equivalency but are unable to attend our classes? Delta County Libraries now has a distance-learning program that offers participants the ability to work from home with an online program to prepare for the test.  Contact Ann at astewart@deltalibraries.org for more information.
