Delta County Libraries Closed for Veteran’s Day.  Delta County Libraries will be closed on Saturday, November 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Cedaredge

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Cedaredge Library. Thursdays starting at 10:30am. Parents and Tots are invited to participate in a reading time together. Contact the Library at 399-7674 for details

Cuba: Its Art and Music.  Presented by Doris McGuire on her recent travels to Cuba.  Thursday, November 9 at 2:00pm at the Cedaredge Library.

Pinterest 101. Learn how to use the online resource Pinterest in this easy-to-follow class.  Friday, November 10 at 10:30am.

Cell Phone Basics.  Learn how to use your smart phone in this easy to follow class.  No matter what your level of experience is with your cell phone, this class is perfect for you!  Friday, November 24 at 10:30am.

November Maker Space.  Make a turkey with a Hershey Kiss and other provided materials.  All month long during library hours.

October-November StoryWalk®. The Busy Tree, written by Jennifer Ward, will be on display at the Surface Creek Trail StoryWalk® during the months of October and November.

Crafts Group. Crafters meet every Tuesday at 10:00am to share ideas and show & tell.

Tech Soup Saturday.  Bring your devices and your questions. Our expert “techies” will do their best to answer your questions.  Every Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Genealogy. Who’s Who in Whoville?  Find out who you really are!  The first Friday of every month from 10:30am to 12:00pm

Crawford

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Crawford Library. Stories, games, songs, activities, and crafts for kids 0-5 and their parents or caretakers. Thursdays starting at 10:30am. Contact the Library at 399-7783 for details.

Delta

Friends of the Delta Library Meeting. Be a friend to Delta Library! The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Wednesday, November 8 at 3:00pm.

Patron Appreciation & Carnegie Day. Join us in celebration of the beautiful, historic Delta Library! The public is encouraged to visit the library on Monday, November 13 from 10:00am to 6:00pm.  Starting at 5:00pm, there will be appetizers and staff will perform a skit set in the early 1900’s.  Friends of the Delta Library will be available to share information about their group.  All of this and more in the original Carnegie building.  Monday, November 13, 10:00am to 6:00pm, with the skit and appetizers at 5:00pm.

Delta Book Club.  Join the club!  Meets Saturday, November 18 at 12:00pm.

Basket Case Quilting Guild.  Honoring the Basket Case Quilting Guild for all their years of displaying quilts in Delta Library.  Quilts on display all month long during library hours.

Build a Turkey Scavenger Hunt. Find the turkey pieces and create a turkey to take home!  All month long in November in the children’s area.

Genealogy 1-on-1.  Get the help you need researching your genealogy in this on-going class taught by Mickey Watts!  Meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:00pm.

Talk & Tangle Yarn. This is a group of knit and crochet enthusiasts that get together to talk and work on their individual projects. Anyone is welcome. Mondays at 5:30pm.

Hotchkiss

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Hotchkiss Library.  Wednesdays starting at 10:30am. Join us for stories, activities, and crafts downstairs in the Hotchkiss Library. Contact the Library at 399-7781 for details.

Hotchkiss Library Friends are accepting gently used books, recent magazines, and DVDs for their bookstore.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from the bookstore and semi-annual book sales go directly to Hotchkiss Library.  Donations can be dropped off at Hotchkiss Library during open hours, Monday through Thursday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Thank you for your support!

Cooking with Chef Anthony Reichenbach. Fresh ideas for the holidays! Learn how to prepare turkey roulade with sausage stuffing.  Thursday, November 9 at 3:00pm.

Master Builder Club. Explore your creativity as a master builder with LEGO and other materials!  Join us for monthly design themes and free building time.  All ages welcome, children under 7 should bring an adult.  Meets the first Tuesday of every month through April at 4:00pm.

Knitting Group. Do you knit or crochet?  Join us for ideas, help, and good company the second Thursday of every month October through April at 10:30 AM.  Anyone is welcome to join!

Hotchkiss Book Club. The Hotchkiss Book Club meets the third Thursday of every month at 3:00pm, October through June.  Call 399-7781 for details.

Around the World.  Travel the world and explore a different country every month. Join us for stories, games, recipes and activities from around the globe. The fourth Thursday of every month at 5:00pm October through April.  All ages welcome.

Fall Crafts Maker Space. Have fun creating your own beautiful fall decorations, one for you, and one to give away to someone!  All month long during library hours.

Paonia

Knit Crochet Day. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow knitters and crocheters; share projects and browse our library of craft books for use or purchase. Always tea and cookies too!  The third Saturday of every month from 12:00 to 1:30pm

BeyBlade Tournaments.  Come to the Paonia Library to play BeyBlades!  Games and snacks provided.  Meets the third Thursday of every month at 4:00pm.

Tech Café.  Paonia Library will have an open Tech Cafe in the Community Room for all ages and skill levels to seek tech assistance.  Every Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00pm.

Literacy Program

High School Equivalency.  For information on High School Equivalency classes or HISET testing, please contact Gail at 399.7670 or gsrebnik@deltalibraries.org.

Distance Learning Program.  Do you need your high school equivalency but are unable to attend classes? Delta County Libraries now has a distance-learning program that offers participants the ability to work from home with an online program to prepare for the test.  Contact Ann at astewart@deltalibraries.org for more information.
