Portable Planetarium: December 4, 2017

Portable Planetarium Astronomy Program at the Delta Library:

Monday, December 4 from 3pm to 6pm.

On Monday, December 4, in collaboration with Canyon Country Discovery Center, Delta Library is offering multiple astronomy programs in a portable planetarium. The programs will include Journey to the Center of the Milky Way, Sunstruck, Space Shapes, and Back to the Moon.

Journey to the Center of the Milky Way takes the viewer to a black hole at the center of the Milky Way, through gas clouds, 84 million stars, and the ESO Observatory. It is ideal for grades 6 and up.

Sunstruck covers the basics of the sun including solar cycles, magnetic fields, solar winds, the life and death of the sun, and how and why it affects our lives.

Space Shapes explores the earth, moon, planets, and shapes of orbits. Both Sunstruck and Space Shapes are ideal for Pre-K through 2nd grade levels.

Finally, Back to the Moon depicts travel to the moon and visuals of the moon from the last of the Apollo missions. It includes related interviews and explains the Google award for the challenge of private enterprise returning to the moon. Back to the Moon is ideal for grades 6 and up.
