Surface Creek Trail StoryWalk®.
The December StoryWalk® book on the Surface Creek Trail is “Santasaurus’ Adventure” written and illustrated by Cedaredge High School students Grace Hatheway, Sophia McCrackin, Abby Williams & Ellison Black. As Santasaurus and his Elferaptors are busy readying for his Christmas Eve delivery, an unforeseen misfortune plagues the day! The reindeer are sick, and Santasaurus is at a loss for what to do. Will Christmas have to be canceled? Find out how the story goes on the Surface Creek Trail in December. Then, visit the Cedaredge Library for a take-home craft related to the story.

Holiday Card Making.
Visit the Crawford Library during library hours to make a holiday card for a friend, family member, or loved one. All supplies provided. Wednesday, December 12 through Saturday, December 22.

Sweitzer Lake StoryWalk®
The December StoryWalk® at Sweitzer State Park in Delta is “The Pirate Cruncher” by Johnny Duddle. A mysterious old pirate tells a tavern of salty seadogs about an island bursting with hidden treasure. But once they set sail, he also mentions that it is guarded by the terrible Pirate Cruncher. When the pirates’ greed gets the better of their fear, there’s a big surprise in store! Find out how the story goes on the Sweitzer Lake State Park StoryWalk® in December. Then, visit Delta Library to listen to the book on CD and create a pirate map!

4th Annual Gingerbread Festival.
Dash to the Hotchkiss Library for an afternoon of gingerbread festivities. Enjoy gingerbread stories, crafts, and decorate your own gingerbread cookie to take home! All ages are welcome. Wednesday, December 5 at 4:00pm.

The Illustrator’s Magic.
The entire family is invited to Paonia Library for a presentation by Erick Ingraham. Ingraham is a local fine artist and an illustrator of children’s books, including the beloved “Cross-Country Cat.” At this holiday reception, Erick will share the secrets of creating picture books and draw impromptu animal sketches. Books will be available for purchase; seasonal snacks provided. Saturday, December 8 at 11:00am.
