2017 Summer Reading Program. Build a Better World and a better you this summer at Delta County Libraries! Registration for the children’s, teen and adult summer reading programs open on Friday, May 26. Register in-person at your library or online by visiting www.deltalibraries.org, “Summer Reading”.

Group Challenge. The Adult Summer Reading Program will feature a challenge for all ages to get involved in countywide! Participants will form a group of three or more people, select a project to complete in their community, and then share the results with their local library! Cedaredge

Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Cedaredge Library. Thursdays starting at 10:30 am. Parents and Tots are invited to participate in a reading time together. Contact the Library at 399-7674 for details.

Friends of the Cedaredge Library Meeting.  Light refreshments and the regular meeting will follow the featured monthly program.  Thursday, June 8 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Children’s Summer Reading Kick-off Party.  Discover a world of rhythm at the 2017 Summer Reading Kick-off Party!   Program presenters, The Embodying Rhythm Musical Outreach Ensemble with David Alderdice & Friends, are sure to get you moving!  Thursday, June 8 at 2:00 pm.

Teen Summer Reading Program Kick-off Party.  Join the fun with free food, fun activities, and a prize drawing!  Be entered for a chance to win a drone!  Friday, June 9 at 2:00 pm.

Summer Reading Puppet Show: Week two of children’s program will feature the Six Little Critters & the Big, Somewhat-Bad Dragon Puppet Show.  Six little critters create their dream homes, but Dewey the Dragon threatens destruction!  Can teamwork triumph?  Games to follow!  Thursday, June 15 at 2:00 pm.

Teen Summer Reading. Week two of the teen program in Cedaredge will feature Simple Machines: Moving Arms!  Fun activities, a prize drawing, free food, and a chance to win a drone!  Friday, June 16 at 2pm.

Tanzania: People, Culture and the BIG 5.  Lori Molitor will be presenting a talk and slideshow, along with souvenirs, from her travels to Tanzania. Tuesday, June 20 at 7:00pm at the Stolte Shed in Cedaredge.

Summer Storytimes. June and July themes will include: Robots, building with food, build-a-fort, reduce/reuse/recycle, tools are cool, outdoor build-off, building around the world and puzzles.  Every Thursday at 10:30 am.

May-June StoryWalk®. Superworm, written by Julie Donaldson, will be on display at the Surface Creek Trail StoryWalk® during the months of May and June.

Summer Maker Space. “Build a Better World’ by trying your hand at the complete Architectural Design Kit, and make a better building! This will be available all summer long during library hours to go with our theme for summer reading. Design a better house! A better world!

Crafts Group. Crafters meet each Tuesday at 10:00 am to share ideas and show & tell. Contact the Library at 399-7674 for details.

Tech Soup Saturday. Bring your devices and your questions.  Our expert “techies” will do their best to answer your questions. Saturdays, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Who’s Who in Whoville?  This genealogy group will meet at the Cedaredge Library the first Friday of every month at 10:30 am.

Crawford

Genealogy 1-on-1.  Get the help you need researching your genealogy in this on-going class taught by Mickey Watts!  Meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 pm.

Magic the Gathering. Teens can come to the library to play and trade cards for Magic the Gathering! Tournaments every first Saturday at 10:00 am.

Talk & Tangle Yarn. This is a group of knit and crochet enthusiasts that get together to talk and work on their individual projects. Anyone is welcome. Mondays at 5:30 pm.

Hotchkiss

Little Wiggles.  Children ages 2 through 8 are invited to Paonia Library to hula-hoop, dance, wiggle, do yoga, and other creative movement for an hour each week in June.  Wednesdays at 10:30 am.

Father’s Day Card Maker Space.  Come to the Paonia Library during open hours and create a handmade card for the special father in your life.  All supplies provided.  June 8 through June 16 during library hours.

Summer Concert Series. Singer Songwriter Beth Williams builds an eclectic bridge between folk, country, blues, yodeling, pop, gospel and western swing music. Her soaring vocals, artful lyrics, engaging smile and the ability to closely connect with her audience make for a powerful combination. Please join us for a night of music at the Paonia Library Amphitheater with Beth Williams!  Tuesday, June 13 at 6:30pm.

Learn the basics of solar energy, build your own solar powered water fountain, wire and power small electronics with solar panels, and design and use a solar cooker!  As always, a prize drawing, free food, and a chance to win a drone!  Thursday, June 15 at 2:00 pm.

Knit Crochet Day.  Enjoy the comradery of fellow knitters and crocheters; share projects and browse our library of craft books for use or purchase. Always tea and cookies too!  Saturday, June 17 at 12:00 pm.

Tech Café.  Paonia Library will have an open Tech Cafe in the Community Room for all ages and skill levels to seek tech assistance.  Every Thursday at 2pm.

Distance Learning Program.  Do you need your high school equivalency but are unable to attend our classes? Delta County Libraries now has a distance-learning program that offers participants the ability to work from home with an online program to prepare for the test.  Contact Ann at astewart@deltalibraries.org for more information
