Delta, CO (April 26, 2021) – The pandemic has impacted everyone, especially frontline workers in the health and human service field. In response, the Rocky Mountain Health Foundation (RMHF) has provided funding to Delta Health to support the emotional and physical well-being of its staff.
The fifteen thousand dollar grant will be used for staff care and to address the mental health and wellness needs of employees at Delta Health.
“We are thrilled to have been given this funding provided by the RMHF,” said Matt Heyn, President and Chief Executive Officer for Delta Health. “Our staff has gone above and beyond to provide remarkable care for our community during the pandemic and beyond. This gives us a chance to give back and to say thank you.”
The RMHF serves 22 counties in Western Colorado. With a mission to improve the overall health of a community, RMHF distributes roughly one million annually. The Foundation addresses some of the Western Slope’s most pressing health needs, including access to healthcare, hunger, transportation to/from medical treatments and integrated behavioral health.
The Delta Health Administration team has decided to roll the funds into the annual budget of the newly formed Delta Health Culture Committee and can be used towards hospital-wide events, activities and more. This committee is a selected team of employees that discuss, plan and proactively drive all matters regarding the mission, vision and future of the culture at Delta Health.
The group was formulated earlier this year as part of the hospital’s rebrand and three-year strategic plan that focuses on a variety of goals including increased employee satisfaction, engagement and improved organizational culture.
“We value our employees and the continual hard work they put into the care of the patients in our community every single day,” said Heyn. “The culture committee is going to do a great job of deciding how to allocate the funds to best support and care for our staff.”
